What is Radical Centrism?
Radical centrism isn’t centrist, moderate, or a compromise of ideology. It’s a commitment to pragmatic decision-making based on the circumstances at hand. Decisions can draw from all sectors of the political spectrum.
|
Radical centrists analyze the data and decide on those options that maximize the common welfare. They do not commit to decisions based on ideology.
|
The beauty of being a radical centrist is that it’s subjective. Radical centrists are not a cohesive unit. Radical Centrism is an approach to policy, rather than a political ideology.

What are Georgetown Radical Centrists?
The Georgetown Radical Centrists is Georgetown University's newest apolitical, political organization. We aim to seek the best pragmatic solutions for the majority of people.
How did the Georgetown Radical Centrists start?
A group of passionate Hoyas came together through a variety of group chats during the summer of 2019 to discuss salient political issues. After many heated debates among students from all over the world, the Radical Centrists were born. We received university recognition in fall 2019 and look forward to growing our presence on campus!
What makes us radical?
Radical Centrists are not traditional centrists. We advocate for the best solutions, not necessarily only those in the center, because we recognize that there are actionable solutions from across and outside of the political spectrum. We bring a radical new perspective to political discourse.
Why should I be involved?
Today's politics are more polarized than ever before. As Democrats and Republicans sway further from the center, they no longer represent the opinions of the majority of Americans who identify as moderate. Because of this, we have developed a new approach to thinking about today's most pressing issues, whether it may be immigration, healthcare, or climate change.
